Missing/Damaged items

Hi Everyone, 

I've had a number of messages here, through facebook, twitter and via email regarding various missing and damaged items, I'm sorry if I have not responded to you individually at this point (see previous messages re. disease). There are enough issues that the follow up on these is a mini project in itself, inevitable with 1000 customers I suppose. Despite using the best packaging available we anticipated some damage and loss too, as I think I have stated before we will replace anything accordingly.

Given that books are still arriving in Europe I imagine they are still arriving elsewhere.  We know from previous packages that delivery in Brazil can take a full 2 months.  For this reason we are not going to follow up on missing/damaged items until mid July (the point at which we anticipate everything has fully flushed through the various postal systems). Then we will be able to process everything and reship in bulk at reduced costs.  This will be done via postal services however we will again give you the chance to upgrade to a courier service.  I will be asking you all to contact me via email with your issues.  

Thank you for your patience - we will be updating you in July asking you to contact us individually for this final stage of the project.

We've had lots of great feedback about the book, which is pleasing and makes it all worthwhile.  We are hoping to have a mainstream press review very soon which is exciting!

Hi Everyone, 

I have been very ill and am still suffering but today I have returned to work.  I was diagnosed with Influenza, and because it was from a different continent my body really struggled with it.  I am still deaf in my left ear, hopefully it will go back to normal!  

Many of you do now have your books and the response has been wonderful - thanks for letting us know you are happy, this is very pleasing.

One or two people have contacted us to say either that their book was damaged or an item was missing.  Please do not worry, we will replace any damaged or missing items.  Give us time to process these and return your messages, thank you.

I am processing the remaining courier items, most likely if you do not have your item it is because it is still sitting here in my office waiting for my health to return.

Almost everything is on the way now!

Here is what you can expect;

1.  UK backers, people are already receiving them, they should all be delivered by Wednesday 29th April.  If you do not have it by then please let me know [email protected]

2.  EU backers, our bulk shipper is currently processing your parcel - we anticipate they will begin to arrive in Europe in the week commencing May 4th.  May the 4th be with you.

3.  US backers - because our bulk shipper has good access to the US postal system we anticipate a similar time frame to the EU.  Obviously it will depend on your state and deliveries could take anywhere between 1 and 4 weeks, based on our previous experience.

4.  Rest of the World - a very mixed bag, you probably know your countries' postal services better than we do.  Should start arriving week commencing May 11th.

5.  Courier services - if you paid for a courier service or are getting high end items (paintings etc) we will be shipping these today and tomorrow prior to our flight to Sao Paulo tomorrow night.  I have about 30 to process, I will do my best to get them all done, but if not it will be my first job when I get back from this much needed break.

6.  T-shirts - several delays and problems with these for various reasons but we now have them - they will be sent on in the post shortly.

If your parcel has not arrived by early/mid June then please let us know.

IMPORTANT - IF YOU RECENTLY CHANGED ADDRESS AND WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT THEN CAN YOU PLEASE ARRANGE MAIL FORWARDING, EITHER THROUGH YOUR POST OFFICE OR THROUGH A FRIEND.  THE CHANCES OF YOUR BOOK BEING RETURNED TO US IS INCREDIBLY SLIM.

We have had some nice reviews already, with luck you and your book will be good friends for many years to come.

Hi Everyone, 

Brazil was a huge success but unfortunately I have returned with a nasty bug and am laid up in bed.  I'm hopeful this is just a bad flu but tests are ongoing at the hospital. 

There is a backlog of messages from people which I am sorry I am not able to get to at this point.  I will do so in time.

95% of the stock is in the mail to you.  Unless you ordered by courier there is no tracking.  Those of you who are getting couriered items I'm afraid they are sitting in my office waiting for my health to return.  I will prioritise these as soon as I am well enough. Apologies, but once I get them shipped they will likely arrive in a few days' time.

Books Shipping Now!

I thought I better muster the energy to update everyone with this exciting news.  Your books are on the way!  If you are in the UK you should start getting your books from tomorrow, everyone else should start getting them over the next couple of weeks.  Some remote places will take a little longer.

This project has been an extraordinary effort from all involved but this last bit has been exceptional. We have packed up over 1000 books and around 6000 items in total, a real labour of love. Fortunately we are off to Brazil on Sunday and can both relax a little.

By necessity (we needed the space in our depot) and because we had a contract we had to send out books to our distributors too.  This means you might see the book in a store before yours arrives (in fairness we didn't send many out, so it's not that likely), however I suggest if you do you resist the temptation to look inside and wait patiently for your postman.  Unlike those in store, your copy is signed by John and has free prints.

All your extra items should be with the book, playmats and giclées and sketches. Unfortunately our T-shirt supplier has let us down and so these will be shipped out at a later date.  I'll update T-shirt people when this happens.

I hope you get your book soon and I hope it brings you joy!
